Tuscany is a great place for handcrafted gifts, particularly fashion and leather good. Traditionally most towns have weekly market days which tend to start first thing in the morning and run through till around 1pm. The markets in Florence, such as the Mercato San Lorenzo will remain open all day.

The weekly markets of Florence
- Mercato di San Lorenzo: Every day except Sunday and Monday
Leather goods and ceramics.
- Mercato delle Cascine: Opens only on Tuesdays

- Mercato del Porcello: Every day except Sunday and Monday morning

- Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio: Open every day only in the mornings

Monthly markets in Florence
- Piazza Santo Spirito market: 2nd Sunday of the month
- Piazza Indipendenza market: 3rd Saturday & Sunday of each month, except July and August
- Piazza Dei Ciompi market: Open every days except Sunday. The last Sunday of the month however is when the biggest market days takes place.
Monthly markets 'fuori' (outisde) Florence
Markets in the other major cities of Tuscany:
- Arezzo, Piazza Grande: 1st weekend of the month
- Lucca, Piazza San Giusto: 3rd Saturday and Sunday of each month
- Prato, Piazza del Comune: Saturday before Easter, September 8th and Christmas Day.
- Porto Santo Stefano: April 15-17, July 28-29, August 25-26
- Pistoia, Via Cigliegiale: every Wednesday and Saturday.
- Greve: Saturday morning 8am-1:00pm
