The Famous Flower Market Of Pescia

Pescia is a charming, if lesser-known, city in the province of Pistoia, in Tuscany. It is thought to have had Lombard origins and the name is a Lombard word that means “river”, which makes sense as the town is located on the banks of a river by the same name.

For centuries, it was famous as a producer of fine silk and flourished under the profitable trade. However, this came to an end in the nineteenth century when commercial conflict with France, during the rule of Napoleon, destroyed the local silk trade. Thereafter, the city was in need of an alternative economic source of livelihood and the production of flowers and olive oil took over.

Visit the bustling town of Pescia in Pistoia Province which is situated along the banks of the River Pescia. This area is well known for its flower and olive tree cultivation which adds lots of colour and tranquillity to the scenery here.

Begin your day by walking around some of the structural attractions of Pescia such as the old flower market building, the communal palace and the ornate cathedral.

Be sure to explore one of the frazioni of Pescia called Collodi. This is the birthplace of Carlo Lorenzini who wrote the beloved children’s book, ‘Pinocchio’.

If you enjoy the flavours and textures of citrus fruit then you should certainly visit the famous Hesperidarium citrus garden in Pescia in the province of Pistoia.

This massive citrus garden produces over two hundred varieties of lemons, oranges and other citrus fruit that originate from all over the world!

Those wishing to spend a few days in the area have plenty of luxury holiday villas in Pescia, the nearby town of Collodi, and in other towns in the province of Pistoia to choose from.

I wanted to write about some famous Tuscan people for a while and now Pinocchio comes to my mind.... I think Pinocchio is actually one of the most famous fictional characters in the world !!!

Pinocchio (pronounced [piˈnɔkːjo] in Italian) first appeared in 1883, in "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi, and has since appeared in many adaptations of that story and others. Carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a small Italian village, he was created as a wooden puppet, but he dreamt of becoming a real boy. Pinocchio is often a term used to describe an individual who is prone to telling lies, fabricating stories and exaggerating or creating tall tales for various reasons.

There is a popular conception that Pinocchio's nose grows only when he lies. Under this condition, the Pinocchio Paradox is an analogy for the liar paradox, expressing the dilemma of what will happen if Pinocchio says "My nose will grow now." If he is lying, his nose should grow, but if his nose grows, then he is actually telling the truth. On the other hand, if he is telling the truth and his nose starts growing, then it will violate the condition that his nose grows when he is lying.. hence the paradox.

In our last post, we discussed the beautiful Medieval Tuscan town of Collodi and its connection to the creation and tales of beloved character Pinocchio. The biggest attraction in the town is a theme park dedicated to the famous puppet, Pinocchio Park, which is a real highlight of the region for children and adults alike and a great day out.

However, despite the town being relatively small and unheard of, it actually has a couple more attractions that will keep everyone in the group happy and provide a nice break from trips to museums and churches for kids exploring Tuscany and her culture and history. Once you have found a luxury villa in Collodi, these are a few of the things that you will want to check out in the town.

The Tuscan town of Collodi, not far from Florence, is most famous as the place where the beloved children's character Pinocchio was created by author Carlo Collodi and featured in the 1883 book, “The Adventures of Pinocchio”. Propelled into fame on a global scale when the story was made into an animated classic by Disney in 1940, Pinocchio became an integral figure in the lives of many children throughout the world. Those who are particularly fond of the puppet who learned how to become a boy and his story and who have found a luxury villa in Collodi (or who have found a luxury villa in Florence and are planning a day trip to the area) will, no doubt, be sure to plan a trip to the theme park dedicated to character, Pinocchio Park. Throughout the town, too, you will find lots of different tributes to the story and plenty of souvenirs on sale from the massive statue of the puppet visible all over town to the little Pinocchio figures sold all over. However, if you are not merely interested in Pinocchio, you will find that the charming little town of Collodi actually has more to offer visitors beyond the park with its rides and whimsy, it is also home to the exceptional Garzoni Gardens and the Butterfly House, which are located just a few minutes away on foot.

Alors concernent la maison c était bien rien a dire
Mais en ce qui concerne l accès à la maison c est extrêmement dangereux
Petit chemin hyper étroit , pas du tout sécurisé .
De votre part je trouve cela malhonnête de ne pas informer les vacanciers
Plus jamais je ne veux aller dans ce genre de location
De plus le propriétaire est malhonnête
Nous avons fait le ménage dans la maison et c était nickel et pourtant il nous a pris 100€.

Nous informons nos locataires de l'accès routier, dans la description nous écrivons clairement :Pour joindre la maison, il faut voyager en descente pour 500 mètres sur une route étroite et pas goudronnée, mais il y a la possibilité de garer la voiture dans la rue principale car le propriétaire vous conduit à la propriété. Vous pouvez également louer la jeep Suzuki du propriétaire (100,00 € par semaine) pour joindre la maison depuis la rue principale.
Le nettoyage final est un coût obligatoire, ce n'est pas un coût facultatif. Cela est également clairement mentionné sur la liste de prix.

Abschalten vom Alltag - genau das trifft es mit dem Anwesen Anfora sehr gut.

Ein wunderschön gelegenes toskanisches Anwesen mit allem was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub benötigt. Das Haus / Anwesen ist sehr groß und frei gestaltet. Wir wurden sehr herzlich vom Vermieter mit Familie direkt am Haus begrüßt. Die Anfahrt zum Anwesen ist nicht für jedes Fahrzeug geeignet, daher haben wir etwas weiter oben geparkt ( 10 Minuten Fußweg bergauf ) und der Vermieter war so nett und hat uns unser Gepäck mit seinem SUV zum Anwesen gefahren und bei Abreise auch sehr gerne wieder zum Abstellort unseres Autos gebracht ( wir fahren einen Ford Mondeo Kombi, zum abschätzen des Fahrtweges ). Das Anwesen ist top gepflegt und es fehlt an nichts, Wohnraum, Bäder, Schlafzimmer, Küche, alles komplett klimatisiert, Waschmöglichkeiten ein sehr großer Pool und und und.. einfach nur Traumhaft. Das schönste an diesem Anwesen ist aber die Verbundenheit mit der Natur und die Ruhe die man in Anfora genießen kann. Das Haus ist ausgelegt für 6 Personen, wir waren nur als Paar hier und hatten daher mehr als genug Platz. Aber auch für 6 Personen bietet das Anwesen genug Platz, damit man auch nicht die ganze Zeit auf einander sitzt. Fahrtzeit von Pescia aus sind es ca. 30 Minuten mit dem Auto. Ausflugsziele kann man dann entweder zu Fuß erreichen ( Wandern ) oder man nutzt das Auto und erkundet die Toskana bei etwas weiteren Strecken. Wir kommen gerne wieder, so ein Haus und zuvorkommende Vermieter haben wir selten erlebt.

A beautifully located Tuscan property with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The house / property is very large and freely designed. We were warmly welcomed by the landlord with family directly at the house. The approach to the property is not suitable for every vehicle, so we parked a bit higher up (10 minutes walk uphill) and the landlord was so nice and brought our luggage with his SUV to the property and also back for departure (we drive a Ford Mondeo station wagon, to make your estimate). The property is well maintained and nothing is missing, living room, bathrooms, bedroom, kitchen, all fully air-conditioned, laundry facilities a very large pool and and and .. just amazing. The most beautiful thing about this property is the closeness to nature and the tranquility that you can enjoy in Anfora. The house is designed for 6 people, we were only here as a couple and therefore had more than enough space. But for 6 people, the property offers enough space, so you do not sit on each other all the time. Driving time from Pescia is about 30 minutes by car. Excursions can then either be reached on foot (hiking) or you can use the car and explore Tuscany at a little further distances. We like to come back, such a house and courteous landlord, we have rarely experienced.
