Collegonzi 10 km from Vinci: It is situated in panoranmic position, in the heart of the Vinci hills. Carefully renovated and tastefully furnished, the position is ideal to reach most of the cultural centre of Tuscany. A tree lined road leads to the villa (our ref. IT5220.900.1) that lies in the middle of an italian garden with many century old trees. On the same property there is another house that can accomodate up to 5 people (approximately 150 m from the main house) that can be booked together (our ref. IT5220.900.2). On request, it is possible to book a cooking course. Villa "Fattoria De' Medici". 10 km from the centre of Vinci, 25 km from the centre of Firenze, 45 km from the centre of San Gimignano, in a secluded, quiet, sunny position on top of a hill. Art lovers who admire the work of Leonardo da Vinci may wish to think about visiting the beautiful village where he grew up, Vinci. This small town is located not too far away from Florence, in the northern area of Tuscany. Although the town is comprised of only a gift shop, a museum, 4 houses, a church, and a restaurant, it is well worth taking half a day to visit if you want to reflect on Leonardo's work and learn more about the man and his life. Many of Leonardo's scientific designs were centuries ahead of his time, including a war tank designed way back in 1500. He was born back in 1452, in a farmhouse located just outside of town. You can visit this Casa di Leonardo as well as the Leonardo Museum. The Church of Santa Croce is another sight to see, built in the 13th century.

Vinci, the birthplace of beloved the Renaissance Master, Leonardo da Vinci, is an exceptionally beautiful and picturesque part of Tuscany. Surrounded by lush forests, vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills that are often swathed in atmospheric fog early in the morning, the town is made up of charming old stone buildings topped by terracotta tiled roofs and overlooked by a fairytale castle (which plays host to a Leonardo Museum) and the church of Santa Croce, with its pretty campanile.

Stunning views and well located.
Some of the fixtures and fittings could be updated but that didn't detract at all for us. The grounds are superb and private, the agent is very helpful, had a great vacation.
