Property Description

Nice, welcoming apartment in a manor house dating back to the 20th century situated north of the town of Arezzo (3 km away), in quiet location amidst olive groves and vineyards. This property has been recently restored with its original architectural features preserved and turned into 2 independent units both with private entrance. The interiors are nicely furnished in a rustic style. Casa Giovanna provides large fenced-in outdoor areas (2500 square meters) and a nice, partially shaded garden with a large furnished loggia, a solarium area and a 3-seat (heated) outdoor Jacuzzi.
The property location allows easy access to central Tuscany and Umbria.
Distances: general stores within 3 km, Arezzo (railway station) 7 km away, Cortona 35 km, Montepulciano 59 km away, Castiglione del Lago (Lake Trasimeno) 60 km, Siena 75 km away, Montalcino 70 km, Perugia 90 km, Rome (airport) 240 km away.
At guests’ disposal: private partially shaded garden, large loggia (with ceiling fans) ideal for al-fresco dining, 3-seat (heated) outdoor Jacuzzi (01/04 - 30/09), 20-square-meter solarium / terrace with sun-beds and deck-chairs (pool towels are provided). WI-FI internet connection (free of charge) and washing-machine available.
All of the bedrooms (and the loggia) provide ceiling fans. Guests can also enjoy a small selection of Chianti wines, Tuscan olive oil and local products.

Extra Services: Maid service by arrangement (€ 12,- / per hour to be paid on the spot). The property owner, Ms Giovanna who is an excellent cook, is available for organizing cooking classes and nice dinners (prices on demand).

There are more towns in Tuscany than most of us will ever hear about, much less visit. When you are planning your trip to Tuscany its best to plan ahead for where you want to go; what do you definitely want to see? Some people make sure to visit San Gimignano, the small town with the big towers. Today in our Villa Spotlight article here at Tuscany Villas we will be taking a look Il Pratino Di Solata, located in the province of Arezzo and laying in between Arezzo and Siena.

This quaint country house is definitely off the beaten path, you won't find large highways leading to this property. Pappardelle Al Maiale

This recipe is a favorite of mine, and will soon be a favorite of yours. While the dish does take quite a while to cook, much of it is simply letting it simmer for hours and letting the aroma take over your house. This is a meal your family and friends will be begging to enjoy again and again.

Pork Roast - cut into large chunks

5 med. carrots

1 small heart of celery

4 pieces of bacon

1 large onion (yellow or white)

2 tsp. salt

1 tps. pepper

1 carton beef broth

2 cups red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon is recommended)

2 tbsp. olive oil

1 12oz can tomato puree

ons verblijf in Casa Giovanna was buitengewoon prettig. Het is een leuk, gezellig huis in een heerlijke grote tuin. Het huis was leuk ingericht en in de keuken was echt alles aanwezig. De eigenaren waren bijzonder aardig: ze ontvingen ons met wijn en hapjes! We willen zeker nog een keer terugkomen!
Het enige minpunt was de toegang: een kleine, maar zeer steile helling met grint. Onze auto had er geen probleem mee, maar die van mijn zusje kwam er niet tegenop. Een eindje verderop langs het smalle weggetje was gelukkig wat ruimte om hem te parkeren.
Onhandig is dat het huis eigenlijk een andere naam heeft: Villa l'olivo (of zoiets): we waren er dus eerst voorbijgereden.
