Cortona is a charming medieval hilltown in Tuscany which is an important artistic and cultural centre. Within the walls of the town, it can sometimes seem as though time has stopped long ago and everywhere you turn, you will see historic architectural gems. However, some of the real highlights of the town and its surrounding area are its churches. The Church of Santa Maria Nuova, in particular, as a centralised square-plan Renaissance church, is a prime example of an important principle of Renaissance construction. Santa Maria Nuova was built by Giorgio Vasari in 1554 and is an example of one of that great architect’s later works. Beautiful property composed of a main villa and a converted hayloft (rentable only on request, together with the main villa) located in a pretty hamlet (where the owner's house is also situated). The villa offers a private, equipped outdoor space, private pool and an exterior recreation room, with a ping pong table and washing machine. The hayloft (4 sleeps, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom) is rentable only on request, together with the villa: it is located at the center of the property, approx. 40 m from the pool away, while the villa is about 100 away (and has its own private entrance).
The property is well maintained and the indoor spaces are very comfortable. There is a small brook that runs nearby. The property's location is central, within easy reach of Tuscany and Umbria's most important cities of art.
