We had a fantastic time in the hills outside Lucca. Our hosts were gracious, responsive and extremely attentive, we felt very looked after throughout our stay there. The views are beautiful. The drive up the hill was a little windy and it was a bit tricky to find on day one, but after that it was a great stay.

Het huis ligt op een prachtige lokatie en rustige lokatie. kijkt uit over de heuvels van Toscane
We woning zelf is van alle gemakken voorzien is schoon en netjes.
De toegangs weg is wel wat lastig, is een landweg.
De eigenaar reageert snel op vragen en kwam langs om vragen te beantwoorden.

Our stay at Villa Poggio Cuccule was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, this property offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Paola. the warm, generous, and endlessly gracious owner, whose hospitality elevated our entire experience.
The villa itself is immaculate: clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Each of the three houses on the property is beautifully equipped, offering privacy and comfort while still feeling connected to the larger estate. The big kitchen quickly became our favorite gathering spot, filled with laughter, wine, and the irresistible aroma of homemade pizza from the outdoor oven (which we used constantly!).
There’s so much to do onsite, from relaxing under olive trees to exploring the grounds and the peaceful atmosphere makes it hard to leave. That said, if you plan to explore the surrounding area, we strongly recommend having a car. The walk to town is about 90 minutes and absolutely stunning, but it’s not for everyone. There is a bus, though it runs only twice a week with one trip per day.
Still, none of that detracts from the experience. Villa Poggio Cuccule is a slice of heaven, and Paola is the heart of it. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our return.

Wir haben eine Woche in diesem wunderschönen Häuschen in der Toskana verbracht und uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und bietet alles, was man braucht. Besonders begeistert hat uns das traumhafte Grundstück mit dem gepflegten Swimmingpool sowie die atemberaubende Aussicht inklusive unvergesslicher Sonnenaufgänge. Durch die Lage ist das Haus ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Toskana, sei es in charmante kleine Dörfer oder Städte wie Florenz und Siena. Die Besitzer sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit, zugleich hatten wir jederzeit unsere Privatsphäre. Ein absoluter Wohlfühlort, den wir sehr empfehlen können.

Dieses Objekt ist ein picobello sauberes, bis ins kleinste Detail kernsaniertes Rustico mit einem super gepflegten Terrassengarten.
Die (Schwieger-)Eltern der Vermieter wohnen nebenan, aber keine Sorge, man merkt kaum, dass sie da sind.
Während unseres Aufenthalts lebten dort auch drei zurückhaltende Hunde und eine kleine Katze auf dem großen Gelände.
Das Ferienhaus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man in einem Haushalt so braucht: Fön, Bügeleisen, Staubsauger, Waschmaschine und so weiter. Die Küche ist ebenfalls großzügig ausgestattet und lässt kaum Wünsche offen.
Die Matratze des Hauptschlafzimmers ist mittelhart. Wir haben recht gut auf dieser schlafen können. Wobei dazugesagt werden muss, dass wir zu Hause auf sehr weichen Matratzen schlafen. Solch eine Einschätzung ist immer subjektiv.
Alle Fenster sind mit Fliegengittern versehen, was die Mücken draußen jedoch nicht davon abhielt, uns im September komplett zu zerstechen. Wenn man die Haupteingangstür weitgehend geschlossen hält, trifft man im Haus selbst kaum eine Mücke an. Im Außenbereich empfiehlt es sich, regelmäßig zu "autanisieren".
Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist das WLAN sollte dringend verbessert werden.
Im Schlaf- und Kinderzimmer hat man guten Empfang, da sich der Router im Kinderzimmer befindet, aber in allen anderen Räumen ist der WLAN Empfang sehr schlecht. Das macht sich spätestens dann bemerkbar, wenn man Netflix schauen möchte. Mobiles Internet funktioniert im Außenbereich super, aber im Rustico selber, durch die dicken Natursteinwände, nicht mehr. Wir haben unser Mobiles Datenvolumen während unseres Aufenthalts komplett verbraucht. Hier sollte unbedingt seitens des Vermieters nachgebessert werden. z.B. durch Repeater die das Signal über das Haus-Stromnetz im Rusico übertragen. Wer vom Ferienhaus aus arbeiten möchte hat hier eher schlechte Karten. Leider.
Ein großes Dankeschön an das Vermieter-Ehepaar für einen wunderbaren und ruhigen Aufenthalt und die tolle Unterstützung, die sie uns geleistet haben. Als wir eine Reifenpanne hatten, haben sich die beiden um einen Abschleppdienst und eine Fachwerkstatt gekümmert.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] This property is a spotlessly clean, meticulously renovated rustico with a superbly maintained terraced garden. The owners' parents-in-law live next door, but don't worry, you'll hardly notice they're there.
During our stay, there were also three reserved dogs and a small cat living on the spacious grounds.
The holiday home is equipped with everything you need in a household: hairdryer, iron, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, and so on. The kitchen is also generously equipped and leaves little to be desired.
The mattress in the master bedroom is medium-firm. We slept quite well on it. It should be noted, however, that we sleep on very soft mattresses at home. Such an assessment is always subjective.
All windows have fly screens, but this didn't stop the mosquitoes outside from completely biting us in September. If you keep the main entrance door largely closed, you'll hardly encounter a mosquito in the house itself. It's recommended to regularly "autanize" outside.
The only downside is that the Wi-Fi is in dire need of improvement.
The reception in the bedroom and children's room is good, as the router is located in the children's room, but in all other rooms, the Wi-Fi reception is very poor. This becomes noticeable, especially when you want to watch Netflix. Mobile internet works great outdoors, but doesn't work in the rustico itself due to the thick natural stone walls. We completely used up our mobile data allowance during our stay. The landlord should definitely improve this, for example, by installing repeaters that transmit the signal via the house's electrical system. Anyone wanting to work from the holiday home is at a disadvantage. Unfortunately.
A big thank you to the landlord couple for a wonderful and peaceful stay and the great support they gave us. When we had a flat tire, they took care of arranging a tow truck and a specialist workshop.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes
