Some Italians are well known for ignoring the standard parking rules but we recommend you follow the law and park in the allocated spaces just in case an Italian police officer decides to pick on you!
The most common Italian driving signs you’ll need to know when passing through towns is the one way sign with the words ‘SENSO UNICO’ and an arrow pointing in the direction that the one way system indicates.
‘No Parking’ signs are circular with a blue background, red border and red line through the middle.
The ‘No Overtaking’ sign is circular with a red border and white centre. In the centre are two cars; the right car is black and the left car is red indicating that overtaking isn’t permitted along the upcoming stretch of road.
