From an aerial view faint outlines can be noticed but due to being covered by trees and vegetation, much of the line definition is lost. However a ground view presents a much more linear appearance. They stand along a N-S/E-W orientations, a geometric pattern equal to the belt stars of Orion.

No large scale excavation has taken place here yet but archaeologists have uncovered many interesting artefacts here. A Palaeolithic settlement has been dated to have existed here as far back as 25,000 BC.
Three of the main similarities between the Pontassieve pyramid hills and that of the ancient pyramids of Egypt are as follows:
Their orientation is at 45 degrees, just like the Giza pyramids in Egypt.
They reach a height of 140 metres, similar to the 137 metre high Kufu pyramid.
These hills are inclined towards the peak at an angle of 45 degrees, similar to the 43 degrees of the Dashur pyramid.
What a fascinating mystery this is of Tuscany where many questions have still to be answered! Why not come and visit them for yourself and take lots of interesting photos?
