Go on a delightful day trip to Elba Island from Livorno some day and visit five incredibly beautiful churches here. Why not hire some bikes or hike to these historical gems so you can fully appreciate the sheer beauty of Elba, the largest island in the Tuscan archipelago.

Stay in a stunning holiday villa on Elba Island where you can easily explore all this picturesque place has to offer!

Begin your tour with the well preserved Chiesa di San Giovanni in Campo, overlooking the towns of Sant‘Ilario and San Piero in Campo.

Then head to the church of San Niccolo as it’s now known. Located just outside San Piero, this beautiful church was partially attached to a 15th century fortress built right here also.

One of Elba’s best preserved churches is the Chiesa di Santo Stefano alle Trane. This quaint little church was built in the 1100s on a scenic hilltop overlooking the towns of Magazzini and Schiopparello. In the afternoon, why not head over to see the Chiesa di San Michele in Capoliveri. It has been renovated in recent years and is set in such idealist surroundings!

Finally, finish off a beautiful day of touring with a walk around the Chiesa di San Lorenzo in Marciana. It was built in a valley between the towns of Marciana and Poggio. As well as lots of religious and cultural sites to see on Elba Island, be sure to check some exhilarating water sports available all around its rugged coastline.

In the afternoon or evening, sit down in one of the island’s highly rated coastal restaurants and savour the very finest food and wine.

A visit to Elba Island for a day or two is guaranteed to be an enriching tourist experience!
