All three are located in the Arezzo province so depending on where your Tuscan villa is situated you can start your day in either one. Stia is a charming town about 40 kilometres east of Florence and is nicknamed as the ‘Source of the Arno’ river. The true source actually originates further upon the slopes of Monte Falterona but Stia is the first town it flows through.

The charming town of Poppi is situated only twenty minutes’ drive south of Stia and has some spectacular sights for you to lay eyes on! Explore Poppi Castle, a magnificent structure with a pretty external staircase, interior frescoes and many other treasures.
45 kilometres further south from Poppi is the town of Laterina.
This small commune may be best known as a speculative background of the famous Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Visit what is widely believed to be the site of this background located between Laterina and Pergine Valdarno.

An enticing medieval festival takes place in Laterina during the last weekend in July and would be a wonderful tourist experience to witness as locals dress up and parade through the streets to the sound of a marching band.
The streets are filled with stalls selling food, wine and crafts and music and laughter fills the air!
