Montecatini Terme is a lively commune in the Valdinievole of Pistoia in Tuscany.

Its economy is mostly based on tourism which stems from the steaming thermal springs which are heated from deep within the earth here.

Montecatini Terme has been inhabited since ancient times because of this precious thermal source. Because of this, Montecatini Terme has been the centre of many bitter feuds between Florence, Siena and Arezzo provinces. Eventually it came within the territory of Pistoia.

Why not come and soak in the mineral rich hot springs that are located outdoors (for free) and indoors in some luxury spas?

The Terme Canopy is the most luxurious spa in Montecatini Terme and was constructed in the 14th century.

An elaborate canopy encircles the source of the thermal waters on this site. The architect, Gaspero Maria Paoletti based his design on the luxury Roman baths of old where large porticoes surrounded a central pool and decorative mosaics, frescoes and flowers added an exquisite finish to these buildings of leisure.

Afterwards why not treat yourself to a delicious Italian coffee al fresco and a plate of a local delicacy, Waffles Montecatini which can be served with whatever delicious topping you desire!

An hour or two soaking in this revitalising hot water will revive your spirits and truly enhance your tourist experience of Tuscany.

Stay in a stunning luxury villa in Montecatini Terme and soak up all the delightful tourist attractions on offer in this popular spa town!
