At Least You're In Tuscany
Today Jennifer Criswell, the author of 'At least You're in Tuscany: A Somewhat Diasterous Quest for the Sweet Life', was kind enough to introduce our readers to her book. I highly recommend the book which can be found on Amazon. Enjoy.

It’s Christmas time in my hill town in Tuscany. White lights twinkle above cobbled-stone streets, shop windows display beautiful scenes of holidays past, and the temperatures hover right around freezing. It’s my favorite time of the year: the baking, the decorating, the time spent with friends. Yesterday, I bought a small tree from a local nursery and brought it home to pot it. You don’t cut down Christmas trees here, you use them year after year.

Unfortunately, the heavy snow of last winter destroyed my old tree, so I adopted a new one. Adorned with ornaments evoking comforting memories, its lights wink merrily alongside my dog Cinder who snores softly from beneath its branches. Our holiday will be spent among friends, both Italian and expats, a group that I have begun not only to rely on but to think of as my Italian family.     Read More

Ted Jones, the author of 'Florence And Tuscany: A Literary Guide for Travellers', was kind enough to write this introduction to his book. We highly recommend the book for all literary-minded travellers.     Read More

In the summer of 2010 my wife and I decided to make good on a dream we'd long held to spend some significant downtime in Italy. We chose to rent a villa in Tuscany for several weeks, and the depth of our enjoyment, including sightseeing, lounging by the pool, and meaningful family time with our four young children, was so amazing it inspired me to write a book about it. Prior to this I had written almost predominantly in the leadership and business genres. However, the events and wonder of that trip were just too enjoyable not to share with others. What resulted was my latest book, A Month of Italy: Rediscovering the Art of Vacation. Below is a chapter excerpt from the book that deals primarily with how we adjusted to living in a rented villa. Not only do I hope you enjoy the chapter, but I also encourage you to strike out on an adventure of your own! Bon viaggio!     Read More

The newly released movie 'Letters to Juliet' was filmed mostly in Italy. While Verona gets most of the top billing, the film was primarily filmed in and around Siena, Montalcino and Castelnuovo Berardenga. Visit the Tuscany Villas website for more information on villa rentals in Tuscany.

This area is one of the most popular areas for villa rentals in all of Italy. Beautiful scenery combined with great food and wine makes for the perfect holiday vacation. Watch the movie and fall in love with Tuscany then come back and let us help you find the perfect villa or farmhouse for your trip to Italy. In Jerry Garrett's blog he posted an informative article about the filming of 'Letters to Juliet' - check it out.     Read More
