New Review Submitted for Podere Oleandri located in Alberoro, Tuscany, Italy.

Rental Date: Sunday 15th of September 2013.
Renter Rating: 4/5.
Review Details:
First, the "good" rating is predicated on the number and constitution of your party. The house has one real bedroom for two people. There is a loft which can sleep two, but it has very low ceiling height and is more suitable for children (not too small; there are steep stairs). There is a pull-out sofa in the single large room downstairs.
The kitchen is adequate, stove and fridge are fine. However the supply of cooking utensils and kitchen gadgets is limited so serious cooking is not well catered for. No microwave. The dishwasher door cannot open all the way which makes loading it a pain. There is an outdoor grill (which we didn't use but it would be fine for a wood fire).
The grounds and pool are lovely, but in our case, it was too cool for the pool and the mosquitoes ferocious which made sitting outside without repellent impossible. In fact I found that even walking the short distance to the car was enough to get bitten several times if one was not covered in repellent. That is of course not the "fault" of the property, literally every rural area we visited in Italy in September was the same.
Hot / cold water balance was an issue: an adjustment to the filter under the sink gave us hot water in the kitchen, but I was never able to take a shower in the upstairs bath with constantly fiddling to keep the water from becoming too hot or too cold. My wife reported that the downstairs shower was OK.
The other lack we felt was absence of laundry facilities (my miss: the listing made no mention of laundry).
I did not like being charged 25 Euros a week for internet service (OK but not stellar), even with the explanation "everyone does". I complained enough so we were charged for one week of the two.
Pilar and CLaudio were gracious hosts, happy to suggest restaurants, call for reservations, and make suggestions for outings and small towns to visit.

Overall it was a good stay, but we felt our guests were a bit inconvenienced by the sleeping arrangements. My understanding is that by the summer of 2014 there may be laundry facilities in an adjacent building and by then the teething pains of the new hot water system may have been worked out as well.

we had a lovely stay in Melograno. Arianna was really helpful, the apartment was well maintained and the esatate beautiful and quiet, and very well-located just a short walk to San Donato.

New Review Submitted for Casa Massoni: Massoni 1 located in Florence, Tuscany, Italy.

Rental Date: Saturday 3rd of August 2013.
Renter Rating: 4/5.
Review Details:
Despite having no living area this apartment was quite good for 6 adults who each had a two seater car. The cars could be parked off street and the bus to central Florence is outside the front gate. The apartment was not as clean as one would expect. It looked rather grubby with cobwebs in places. The dishwasher had not been unpacked and there was food in the bottom of the dishwasher so maybe it had not even been through a cycle. The kitchen is rather small making it difficult for two people to be in the room to prepare a meal. We had problems with the electricity failing a number of times and not being able to reset the circuit as the switchboard for the apartment was located in the other apartment on the same level. The hot water also failed one night. The property managers/agents, Sylvia and Thommaso were very helpful by attending promptly to fix any problem but it was inconvenient to have to contact them all the time.

New Review Submitted for La Chiantigiana: Chiantigiana 5 located in Panzano, Tuscany, Italy.

Rental Date: Saturday 21st of September 2013.
Renter Rating: 5/5.
Review Details:
We had a great time at La Chiantigiana. Maria, the owner was very friendly, but does not know much English. She even did our laundry for us. The view of the surrounding country side and town of Panzano is beautiful including stunning sunsets. The villa is very clean, spacious and the interior of the apartments look new. Wifi access is very limited. The Panzano Sunday morning market was worth visiting for groceries and inexpensive gifts. Bicycles & scooters can be rented in Greve. The villa is located on the main road (not a freeway) connecting Florance and Sienna, approximately a kilometer south of Panzano. It is not well marked to see at 50 kph. Don't rely on there being any condiments in the apartments.

New Review Submitted for Casa Clizia located in La Collina, Tuscany, Italy.

Rental Date: Saturday 21st of September 2013.
Renter Rating: 4/5.
Review Details:
This property should not be advertised as a villa. It is an apartment with four bedrooms. Only one set of windows look out at the countryside.. There is no lounging area. One must sit at the kitchen table to read or converse. There are virtually no supplies. The renter must furnish everything including salt and pepper and toilet paper. The Wi-Fi is available only in the back bedroom. The electricity went off twice because of a circuit-breaker problem.
The owners tried to have it fixed after the first time, but it failed again. The owners are very nice, but speak very little English.
If one wants a convenient place for travel, it is well situated to visit the countryside. It is not a place where one would want to "hang out."
