This was a beautiful, peaceful location to relax with family. We arrived late at night in the dark, and ran around the next morning opening windows to reveal the amazing views! The pool was great for the kids. The villa was clean and spacious. We were able to take several day trips to Florence, Pisa, Luca, San Gimignano and Colle di Val d'Elsa. We loved the location. The little town of Greve was convenient for post office and COOP food market.

Excellent place for vacation in many ways! We had very nice one week vacation at Casa Dei Ciliegi with four families with many children. The villa exceeded our expectations in many ways.

The house itself is excellent for larger groups. Ground floor inludes spacious living room, dining area and kitchen. Upper floor has many bedrooms and almost all have own showers and toilets, which is perfect especially for families with children. All facilities were clean and in good shape. Kitchen could have been better equipped, with more glasses and sharper and better knives. But otherwise kitchen was serving the purpose well.

Outside area follows the same standards. Spacious yard with two different table areas, other one being under a roof. One surprise was the location of the pool. It was very near the house, but in different level (behind a slope) and you had to walk stairs to get there. That setting would be challenging for disabled persons, but we had no issues with that.

Surroundings of the house are something you would expect from a perfect Tuscan villa. Being in the middle of vineyard with nice views, it was even better than what you would expect from pictures.

We definitely recommend this to all large groups, also those who are travelling with children - but not for disabled persons who would like to go swimming a lot :)

The property is very nice, clean, and well managed. The area(pool, football field, ping pong) is perfect. The view and environment are great. 2 slight minus; first, it is slight far from the highway if want this location as a central location to visit Toscany. For relaxing however, it is great. Second, for urbans like us, it was very quiet, since it is very isolaled. So it depends what kind of vacation you look at. But it is a nice place and people are great.

We spent a fabulous 8 days at Villa Bertagni (despite being somewhat unlucky with the weather). The villa itself is very stylish. Not underfurnished like so many - and with a good number of really really nice antique pieces. The owner used to be in the fashion industry and his sense of style comes through. The central hall area that looks so grand on the photo is indeed beautiful - though a little smaller that it looks in the photos. This is no bad thing - instead of being an echo-ey entrance area, it is furnished with 3 large (nice) sofas and a grand piano making it a really nice place to sit/read. The rooms on the first floor are Ok sized - not huge but nicely done. The 2 rooms on the top floor are bigger - we didn't used them but we suspect they may get a little hot at night. Bathrooms all excellent.

The pool and grounds are excellent. Good size pool, surrounded by mountains - very quiet you could be miles from anywhere. This is a cool trick as the property is in fact pretty close to the town which has a good selection of restaurants/delis and a couple of supermarkets.

Deiter (the owner) lives in a separate building within the grounds. We thought this might be a negative as you are not totally on your own. In fact he is very charming and welcoming but keeps out of your hair. It was also nice to have some support on site if needed.

Overall - ery good. A place you may just fall in love with!

We had a great stay at in Mercatale. The villa is high on a hill facing west looking out onto vineyards and other villas. It is remote enough be very peaceful at night, but not so far it takes forever to get around. The kitchen and bathroom are quite large and the pool is very nice. Glenn P.-St. Louis, MO
