Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.
The Chianti Region is one of the most renowned charming area in Italy for its cultural, historical and enogastronomic traditions. This luxurious Castle offers to our guests incredible holiday experiences (on request) such as cooking lessons, event location, guided tours and more!
Distances from the villa: the small village of Montagnana V.P. with food shops 1 km, Montespertoli with all kinds of shops approx. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa approx. 70 km.
A bus stop with busses to Florence is only a few meters from the castle away. Bikes and scooters for rent are available in Montespertoli.
At guests’ disposal: large and very charming terraced park furnished with garden furniture and table tennis, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and swimming-pool (12 x 6 m - open from 01/04 to 31/10). Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. A nice restaurant offering nice recipes of the local Chianti tradition is open every night (from April to October except on Tuesdays). Laundry with shared washing-machine (€ 4,- / per washing). The structure in subdivided into 3 apartments, (there is no internal access between apartments) which come rented to one single party as a single rental villa. The largest apartment holds a dining room large enough for 8 guests to dine together.
The owners (who are very friendly but not intrusive) manage a family agricultural business from the same location and live a few meters away but do not share any of the outdoor areas with the guests – they do reserve access to a passage which runs below the largest apartment for use only when truly necessary. They will be available should guests require help or advice for what to visit and where to go to enjoy the best of Tuscany.
The property available for rent and the property where the owners live are separated by a border of flowers which gives the guests the most privacy possible.
