Castello di Montegufoni is an exclusive location to spend wonderful holidays in the heart of Chianti Region.
Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.
The Chianti Region is one of the most renowned charming area in Italy for its cultural, historical and enogastronomic traditions. This luxurious Castle offers to our guests incredible holiday experiences (on request) such as cooking lessons, event location, guided tours and more!
Distances from the villa: the small village of Montagnana V.P. with food shops 1 km, Montespertoli with all kinds of shops approx. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa approx. 70 km.
A bus stop with busses to Florence is only a few meters from the castle away. Bikes and scooters for rent are available in Montespertoli.
At guests’ disposal: large and very charming terraced park furnished with garden furniture and table tennis, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and swimming-pool (12 x 6 m - open from 01/04 to 31/10). Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. A nice restaurant offering nice recipes of the local Chianti tradition is open every night (from April to October except on Tuesdays). Laundry with shared washing-machine (€ 4,- / per washing). WI-FI internet connection available in some apartment, in the reception and restaurant area.

The pool has a salted water filter system avoiding the use of chlorine. The garden is fenced all around, making it very safe for children, and there is also a children’s play area.
After arriving you’ll find a nice clean well-maintained property with views of the hills ideal for a relaxing vacation in Tuscany. After a hectic day of visiting museums, spend some time with friends and family poolside enjoying a glass of wine - a perfect way to unwind at the end the day. For your pleasure, on the grounds there is a barbecue grill and patio. The garden on the pool side unfolds as a succession of olive trees, lush lawn, and fragrant Mediterranean herbs, while cypresses and additional olive trees frame the central lawn areas with natural elegance. Near the entrance, an outdoor living area features small sofas and armchairs set among colourful bushes of Mediterranean herbs and flower-filled vases, creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. A gazebo on the pool side, furnished with a table, chairs, and a mobile barbecue, provides the perfect setting for outdoor dining. The porch adjacent to the ex-barn is equipped with a table tennis table for additional recreation. Please note that the property photographs were taken in spring, so the flowering and colours of the garden grass may vary at the time of arrival.
The swimming pool complex is a remarkable feature of the property, set between the olive grove and the lawn approximately 20 m from the house. The complex is formed by 3 interconnected pools that create a captivating play of water. The main infinity pool, finished in coloured cement, measures 4.50 x 12 m, with a depth ranging from 90 cm at the entrance steps to 140 cm beside the cascade. Above it sits the Jacuzzi pool measuring 4 x 2 m, from which water flows down in an emotional cascade into the main pool. At ground level, a children's pool measuring 2 x 3.5 m with a depth of 40 cm completes the complex. Dimora San Germano is configured as 3 separate apartments spread across 2 floors, accommodating up to 14 guests across 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. On the ground floor, entering from the courtyard, guests are welcomed into a spacious living area with a built-in kitchen. To the left, a double bedroom with direct outdoor access through French windows offers a pool view and features an en-suite bathroom with shower. Further along, a dining room with access to the garden on the pool side leads to an outdoor dining area, a bathroom with shower, and an additional double bedroom. To the right of the house is the laundry room, accessible from outside. An internal stone staircase leads to the first floor, where a living area with kitchenette and a single sofa bed opens onto a sleeping area comprising a bathroom with shower, a double bedroom with joinable beds, and a second double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. An external terracotta staircase on the pool side of the house provides access to a further living area with kitchenette and a single sofa bed. A short distance from the main villa, the finely restored ex-barn features a TV room and a living room, ideal for relaxed evenings.

Surrounding the pool is a generous grass sunbathing area furnished with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a table with chairs, all set against a breathtaking backdrop of rolling Tuscan hills. Just a few steps from the house and positioned at a slightly lower level, the pool area is easily accessible and perfectly integrated into the natural landscape. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor, where a shared living area with a television corner and a table for board games awaits.
