The railway station, which is 500 metres from the property, is also within easy reach and makes the house particularly suitable for all types of travel should you wish to visit Tuscany and Central Italy without taking a car.
The farm mainly produces cereals, but around the house you can also enjoy the view of vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees. The owners will be happy to let you taste and buy their pure Sangiovese wine, extra virgin olive oil and other products of the farm, proudly handed down from father to daughter.
The house is surrounded by a large, well-kept garden, shaded and filled with flowers and plants. In the relaxation area, furnished with table and chairs, you can comfortably enjoy your meals in the open air. At the back of the house, in a sunny position, there is a swimming pool measuring 4.5x9m, 1.50m deep and completely fenced ( open from 15 May to 30 September) for the safety of your children.
Another corner that we think you will appreciate is the sun terrace on the first floor, where you will find a small lounge with a sun umbrella, table and chairs, ideal for aperitifs in the cool of summer evenings.
There is also a vegetable garden with fresh seasonal vegetables that you can pick daily.
Podere I Gigli is an old stone farmhouse, dating back to the early 1900s, which has recently been renovated and brought back to life while maintaining the structure, which still exudes ancient history and farming traditions. The outdoor spaces of Il Romitoio are nothing short of extraordinary, extending across multiple terraced levels that descend gracefully in harmony with the natural morphology of the hillside. Approximately one hectare of fenced parkland, enclosed by wire mesh fencing and hedges reaching 1.80 metres in height, surrounds the property and provides complete privacy. The garden is dotted with fragrant bushes of rosemary, jasmine, aloe, and roses, as well as olive trees, all distributed between the buildings and the various outdoor living areas. It is worth noting that the property photographs were taken in spring, so the flowering and the colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.
The centrepiece of the outdoor experience is the panoramic infinity pool, positioned just one metre from the main house entrance. This remarkable pool measures 12 x 6 metres, with a depth ranging from 1.40 to 2 metres, and is lined in PVC with a brick border. It features internal spotlights, a salt purification system, and submerged steps for easy water access. A unique telescopic closure system allows the glass walls and roof to be closed, making the pool directly accessible from the living room. The pool is available from the first Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October and can be heated upon request, up to a maximum temperature of 22°, provided the outside temperature exceeds 12°. Adjacent to the pool, a Jacuzzi tub accommodates up to 6 people. Il Romitoio accommodates up to 12 guests across 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, distributed among 3 distinct residential structures: a main house with an adjacent annex and a second, separate annex located approximately 30 metres from the main building.
The main house spans 2 floors and follows the terraced morphology of the garden, which also allows direct outdoor access from the upper-floor bedrooms. On the ground floor, an open-plan living area incorporates a sitting room with satellite TV and fireplace, a dining table, and a built-in kitchen. A double bedroom and a bathroom with shower complete the ground floor; this bathroom can be made ensuite through a double door that separates it from the living area. An internal staircase leads to the upper floor, where a reading room, 3 double bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms with shower are located, 2 of which are ensuite.
The annex, situated directly adjacent to the main house, features a living room with kitchenette on the ground floor. On the upper floor, a twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with shower opens onto a private terrace.
The second annex, located approximately 30 metres from the main house, offers a living room with a sofa and large table on the ground floor. An external flight of steps descends to the lower terrace, leading to the entrance of the lower floor, where a double bedroom with sauna and a bathroom with shower are found. A laundry room is also located on this level. Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms and in the main living room.

The three units have independent entrances and in the garden their own area equipped with a table, chairs, sun umbrella and barbecue, perfect for enjoying your meals in the open air.
You will find the farmhouse immersed in the Valdichiana countryside and, at the same time, close to the village of Castiglion Fiorentino, which can be easily reached on foot with a walk of about 1.5 km. From the railway station in Castiglion Fiorentino it will be easy to travel by train for day trips to Florence, Rome and other interesting cities in central Italy.
We advise you to immerse yourself in the life of the small village, its shops, bars and restaurants; you will get a glimpse of country life that still harks back to ancient traditions and customs.

Galleria di Brolio is an old stone farmhouse whose origins date back to 1800, located between two of the most important towns of the Valdichiana, Castiglion Fiorentino and Foiano, and which is now part of the owners' farm. You will find the farmhouse just a few kilometres from the two towns and in both, as well as various monuments and sites of artistic interest that are definitely worth a visit, you will have shops, restaurants and all kinds of services. The small historic centres of the villages will be a pleasant destination for your aperitifs or dinners at the restaurant.
The farmhouse takes its name from the Galleria di Brolio, a conduit that is still in operation today and is located on the edge of the olive grove. The conduit is part of the canal built between 1932 and 1940 to improve the flow of water towards the Arno, planned by the engineer Vittorio Fossombroni for the reclamation of the valley at the end of the 18th century.
Galleria di Brolio is situated on the edge of a wood of about 20 hectares of oaks and pines used as a hunting reserve for the repopulation of animals; they live here in the utmost freedom and if you love wildlife you will frequently see hares and pheasants running in the olive grove, the vineyard and even in the house lawn.
On the ground floor there is the apartment where the owners live, as well as a cellar and a shed for the farm's agricultural tools, while the first floor is reserved for you. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable, enriched with local antiques, and blend in perfectly with the old features of the house. Not far away, on the other side of the wood, passes the railway line that connects central Italy with the main cities of the peninsula (Florence, Bologna, Rome, Milan), so it will be easy to move around even without a car.
A few metres from the house, surrounded by silver olive trees, you will find a beautiful swimming pool completely fenced and for your exclusive use (size 11x5 m, depth 1.10-1.40 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), together with a gazebo equipped with garden furniture, which will allow you to shelter from the hot summer sun.
There is also a large pergola supplied with wrought iron furniture for eating outside, equipped with a barbecue and a wood-burning oven, for those evenings when you want to enjoy a pizza or a grill “al fresco”.
The owner, on request, will prepare excellent typical Tuscan dinners and pizzas in the wood-fired oven which, we are told by customers who have stayed at the house, are truly delicious.

The property is set within an expansive park of approximately one and a half hectares, offering guests a generous yard that envelops the entire residence with ancient oak trees, garden plants, shrubs, lavender, and viburnum. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the property, ensuring guests remain connected during their stay. A covered parking area accommodating up to 3 cars is conveniently located directly in front of the property, just outside the gate. La Colonica has been subjected to a check-up by a technical responsible before the beginning of the season, to ensure consistency of the description, accessories listed, and their present state of operation and maintenance, guaranteeing quality, cleanliness, and comfort to all guests.

The outdoor spaces at La Colonica are as impressive as the interior, offering a wealth of recreational and relaxation opportunities set within the beautifully maintained park. The swimming pool is a central feature of the grounds, visible directly from the house and immersed in lush greenery. It is reached either by crossing the park from the house or by descending the stone staircase adjacent to the main gate. Rectangular in shape, the non-heated pool measures 16 x 8 metres with a depth varying from 0.90 metres to 1.80 metres. It is lined in PVC in a grey-black colour, and access to the water is provided via Roman steps. In the shallow section of the pool, it is possible to create a dedicated children's area by closing off this zone with a net. The pool is equipped with whirlpool vents, both external and internal lighting, and a chlorine purification plant. The surrounding solarium area is finished in travertine and lawn and is furnished with a gazebo with sofa, sunbeds, small tables, umbrellas, chairs, armchairs, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October. At the entrance to the ground floor, a cool gazebo with sofas and armchairs provides an ideal setting for reading and moments of quiet relaxation. For sports enthusiasts, a dedicated playground area is situated a few metres from the entrance gate, shaded by ancient oak trees and illuminated at night. This area includes a private five-a-side football field, a bowling green, table tennis, and table football, making it an excellent space for guests of all ages. Please note that the property photographs were taken in spring; therefore, the blossoming of flowers and the colours of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.

La Colonica is a generously proportioned residence configured across 3 floors, capable of accommodating up to 18 guests across 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. The ground floor features a double entrance: to the right, access leads to a double bedroom that communicates with a further double bedroom, both with ensuite bathrooms with shower and both offering direct access to the outside. The garden area is not fully fenced, anyway the pool area is divided from the rest of the garden by a hedge (height about 0.7 m) and a wire net. There is a small gate which can be locked, for the safeness of small children.
Important: The First floor is accessed only through the external staircase and it is not communicating internally with the ground floor.
