Taste the soft floury potato bread from Garfagnana in Serchio Valley that goes perfectly with a rosy coloured ham called Prosciutto Bazzone. Enjoy a delicious onion and beef stew called ‘Francesina’, made from the purple Certaldo onion that has a rich and tender texture.
This vibrant vegetable along with its cousin, the fragrant Vernina onion are grown mostly in the Florence province of Tuscany and are a wonderful addition to summer salads or rustic winter soups and pasta dishes.
