Where To Go Paragliding On Vacation In Tuscany

Paragliding
Monte Pisano (also known as the Monti Pisano but not to be confused with the Pisan Hills) is a small mountainous area in north-central Tuscany that separates Pisa and Lucca. A beautiful part of the country that is perfect for hiking, biking, photography enthusiasts, and those interested in different outdoor pursuits, it is the spot to head to if you have found a villa in Lucca or a luxury villa in Pisa and you are looking to get active during your holiday in the area.

Taking in stunning views over the picture-perfect landscapes of the surrounding area of Tuscany, there are many panoramic spots to enjoy and capture this gorgeous part of the world if you are exploring the area in and around Monte Pisano. However, probably the best, most exciting, and most impressive way to take in those views is from the air itself. How might one achieve this you may ask? Why, by heading out on a tandem paragliding adventure, of course!
Being on holidays means having time to try things one might not normally do, having a budget set aside to pay for activities normally deemed too expensive, and feeling a bit more adventurous! Paragliding, like bungee-jumping, scuba-diving, going on a hot air balloon, and more, is the type of thing that many have never experienced before but may have on their bucket list. If it's on yours and you were thinking about finding a villa in Pisa or a villa with pool in Lucca, then don't miss out and try it at Monte Pisano!

After facing the fear and excitement, fuelled by adrenaline, you just need to take a few running steps and you and your instructor will shoot into the air on a winged device that will make you feel as if you are truly flying like a bird. Soaring over the magnificent Tuscan countryside, you will be able to enjoy more of this beautiful part of the world than you would from the ground or any one panoramic point that affords pretty views. Taken care of by your instructor and carefully harnessed, this intensely thrilling experience is the best way to see this gorgeous region of Italy. Once you have taken off, your instructor will make use of any available updrafts (as long as the weather conditions allow for it) to send you climbing high, often several hundred meters above your starting point, to give you a birds eye view and keep you in the air for as long as possible so that you can truly savour this magical experience.

Offered through the Monte Pisano website, by instructor Walter Bardi, the paragliding trips take place on Wednesdays at 3pm (though other times and days can be requested by filling out a request form on their site) and must be booked 72 hours in advance of the trip. A maximum of five people can book per slot and it is possible to have two people in the air at the same time. Those looking to paraglide must be at least fourteen and generally healthy and disabled guests are also usually catered for though, depending on your condition and the instructors' expert evaluations, may or may not be able to take flight. The duration of the flight will vary depending on the winds as there is no motor or propeller on the paraglider. The total cost of the flight is €139, of which €39 is a deposit that must be paid online at the time of booking with the additional €100 is to be paid on site before the flight.

So, if you're up for adventure on your next trip to Tuscany, check it out!
