Firstly, you might be wondering: Where should I fly into Florence?
There are a few different options that might suit, depending on your budget, departure location, preferred travel times, and more.
Florence has its own airport, Peretola Airport, or Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola, and formally as the Amerigo Vespucci Airport, which is served by Aegean Airlines, Air Corsica, Air Dolomiti, Air France, Air Serbia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Iberia, Ita Airways, KLM, Luxair, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Small Fly, Swiss International AirLines, Tap, Volotea, Vueling, and Wideroe. From Peretola, you can take a shuttle into the city centre in around twenty minutes, which makes it incredibly quick and easy to start your vacation in Florence.
Many, however, fly into Pisa’s Airport, instead, which is served by Aegean Airlines, Aer Lingus, Air Arabia Maroc, Air Baltic, Air Dolomiti, British Airways, Eurowings, flydubai, jet2.com, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Scandinavian Airlines, Small Fly, Transavia, Volotea, and Wizz Air. Trains run by TrenItalia connect from the airport to Pisa’s main station and on to Florence, taking 90 to 120 minutes. Buses, car rentals, and taxis are also all possible to use, again, depending on budget and preferences.
It is also possible to get to Florence by flying into Bologna Airport or the major international hubs of Malpensa and Rome.
