Vin Santo and Biscotti
Italy is known for her wines and is particularly well-regarded for great dessert wines made all over Italy. One of the most famous of these wines is Vin Santo. Vin Santo is made in many parts of Italy, but the best comes from Tuscany. There are three recognized DOC’s in Tuscany for Vin Santo. They are Vin Santo del Chianti (created in 1997), Vin Santo del Chianti Classico (1995) and Vin Santo di Montepulciano (1996). Many sub-par versions are made elsewhere but these are the ones that you should try and taste if visiting Tuscany. Sangiovese grapes, used in making Brunello di Montalcino
Brunello di Montalcino is a red wine made in vineyards surrounding the town of Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. It is one of the most famous and highly regarded red wines in Italy and was the first to be awarded the first DOCG designation (modelled on the French AOC) back in 1980. Brunello di Montalcino first appeared in the 19th century when Clement Santi made a wine from a selection of Sangiovese Grosso grapes. It wasn't until the 20th century, however, that it became known outside the region. Due to its rich, intense flavour and very long life, it has remained particularly popular. It makes the perfect accompaniment to meat and cheeses and is suited to a range of cuisines internationally.     Read More

logo of chianti classico
The famous Tuscan DOCG labelled wine, Chianti Classico is produced in a particular part of the Chianti region between Florence and Siena. One of the super Tuscan wines, Chianti Classico has been made here since Etruscan times and stands out from the rest because of its unique pink logo with a black rooster seal on all of its bottles.

Book a beautiful villa in Chianti with a swimming pool to experience a lavish holiday in comfort while you sip the area's magnificent wine.

The story behind this seal is derived from a comical legend that dates back to the 13th century in this area. Florence and Siena fought bitterly for the ideal grape growing land of Chianti and decided to end their disagreement in a strange way.     Read More
