If you book a holiday at Casale Aiola you will find yourself immersed in a modern farmhouse and forestry farm, surrounded by greenery and set in the total tranquillity of the hills on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, among age-old woods and picturesque valleys. Casale Aiola is an old stone farmhouse divided into two parts. In one part of the house lives the owner who, with his discreet presence, will be a sure reference point for any need.
The farmhouse is located about 25 km from the beautiful Cortona, in Tuscany and about 15 km from the village of Trestina, in Umbria. You can do your shopping in either Cortona or Trestina, both of which have shops, supermarkets and services.
From here you have easy access to green Umbria, with its small villages nestled in the lush hills and bucolic landscapes of Lake Trasimeno, Perugia is only 60 km away.
Similarly, once you have reached Cortona, the splendid towns and cities of southern Tuscany will open up for you to discover. From Cortona to the farmhouse the road is perhaps a little long, even though it is all paved. But once you are there you will be rewarded with the absolute tranquillity of the place.
In our opinion Casale Aiola is definitely suitable for groups of families with children. The large green space around the house is perfect for the little ones to run and play in the middle of nature. Also available, in front of the house, is a children's swimming pool (size m. 4x8 - depth 0.60 m., table tennis, table football, children's games and a bowling green. Pets are welcome (extra charge could be required).
For adults and children there is a large private swimming pool (size 9x16 m. -depth 1,20 m. completely fenced - open from 01st May to 30th September) with bathroom with shower and a small gazebo with fridge to cool down on hot summer days and the tennis court.
On one side of the house you will find two large pergolas furnished with table, chairs and barbecue, where you can organise family dinners and barbecues “al fresco”. Casale Aiola

Description
La Rogaia is a country villa located in a secluded, hilly position close to the city of Arezzo, between the Val d'Ambra and the Valdichiana. Placed in an unspoilt environment, the villa is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and lush woods. You reach La Rogaia through an unpaved road that winds through the woods, well-maintained and only a little steep, and once you are there you will be rewarded with true peace and tranquillity. The villa is furnished with taste and care by the owners who also produce an excellent organic extra virgin olive oil.
We recommend that you don't miss a visit to the nearby city of Arezzo, only 10 km away, to the works of art by Piero della Francesca, Giorgio Vasari, Cimabue, a walk along the narrow streets of the historic centre and a glass of wine enjoyed in the wonderful medieval setting of Piazza Grande.
The real icing on the cake here is, however, the breathtaking view from the very panoramic private swimming pool (size 5x10 m, depth 0.90-1.95 m, completely fenced in and equipped with sun shower - open from 1st June to 30 August). From the pool terrace, your eye will wander over the valley as far as the gates of the city of Arezzo. Description
From the village of Castiglion Fiorentino, with its shops and services, following the suggestive road that crosses the entire Val di Chio and climbs the wooded hills and represent the natural border between Tuscany and Umbria, you will arrive at a small cluster of houses set on the slopes of the hill and overlooking a beautiful wooded landscape. The last stretch of road, about 200 m, is unpaved and sloping. La Casa del Nonno is a small, old stone house that is part of this original rural settlement once inhabited by farming families. Here you will find guaranteed peace; lazy summer days by the pool and in the solarium enjoying the sun, without hearing any noise except those of nature.
A careful renovation has brought La Casa del Nonno back to life. Rustic style furniture, old beams on the ceilings, the old fireplace in the living room, give it a warm atmosphere reminiscent of times gone by, when the house and the open fire were the shelter of the farmers after a hard day's work.
The house will be your own little nest, well-finished, comfortable and cosy and will immediately give you the feeling of being welcome.
In front of the house there is an outdoor area arranged on natural terraces connected by steps, completely fenced and equipped with garden furniture, barbecue and a small house with laundry. Description
Where the blue of Lake Trasimeno gives way to the thousand shades of green of the rolling Umbrian hills you will find Pupa House. In a quiet residential area, set in a natural terrace shaded by ancient pines, with a breathtaking view of the lake that you can enjoy especially at sunrise and sunset but also throughout the rest of your days from the beautiful porch. The villa is divided into two independent apartments, one of which is inhabited by the owner.
The characteristic village of San Feliciano is 1.5 km away and can be reached by a short walk. Here you will find small shops for basic necessities, but above all you will have the opportunity to have lunch or dinner along the lake, with Isola Polvese as a backdrop. In Magione, about 5 km away, you will find supermarkets and shops of all kinds, and in Corciano a large shopping centre.
Lake Trasimeno, with its small towns, water sports opportunities and equipped beaches, is waiting to be discovered. In a little more than an hour you can make the complete tour by car, or better still enjoy a boat trip to Isola Maggiore, with its small fishing village, an activity that is also perfect for your children.
The large swimming pool will be at your disposal (size 12x6 m, depth 0.60-2 - open from 01st June to 30 September); occasionally it is also used by the owner who will be, albeit very discreetly, an excellent point of reference in case of need. You will have your own private space for your car within the fully fenced property, where even your small four-legged friends will be welcome.
The house is comfortable, furnished with particular taste by the owner with local antiques, has a large living room with sofas and an antique fireplace, two comfortable double bedrooms and a smaller one perfect for a child.
Certainly, in addition to the proximity to important centres such as Perugia, Arezzo and Siena, which you can visit with convenient day trips, in our opinion the highlight of the villa is the view from the house and its outdoor space. Casa Clementina is a newly built villa situated in the small village of Santa Maria just outside the characteristic town of Lucignano. Lucignano has very ancient origins dating back to Etruscan times and you should not miss a visit, even if only to admire its unique elliptical walls, which are still intact. Casa Rosada is situated in the countryside of the southern Valdichiana, just a stone's throw from Lucignano, a characteristic medieval village that still retains its original elliptical walls. Lucignano is a 15-minute walk away, up to the magnificent Porta San Giusto which gives access to its stone alleyways, where you can spend lazy summer evenings in typical restaurants and bars, enjoying a good dinner of Chianina beef and local red wine.
