Fiorentina Steak Cooked
If you are going to visit Tuscany then one thing that you have to try is the Fiorentina Steak.

This is a typical florentine plate that consists of a thick beef steak that is well cooked on the outside but bloody on the inside. It's a tradition that is as old as the city from which it takes its name.

English speakers would possibly call this steak a 'Porterhouse' but finding a good one is not the easiest thing to do. The meat is sourced exclusively from Tuscany and it is the traditional T-bone style cut.

When cooked properly, the meat is so tender it can be cut with a spoon. This is possibly because it is a specific breed of cattle that the meat is taken from called Chianina.

Chianina are mostly found in the Val di Chiana near Arezzo and because the animals reach such a huge size, the steaks can a lot of the time exceed 6 pounds.

So if you are planning a vacation in Tuscany and would like to experience one of the nicest cooked steaks in the world, then try the Bistecca alla fiorentina.
