Less than eight kilometres away is the charming town of Panzano in Chianti.

This is the most populated town in Chianti and is home to the remains of what was once a majestic castle. Parts of it remain standing such as the Church of Santa Maria which dates back to the 1200s and was beautifully renovated in the 1800s.

There’s a friendly butcher shop here where the owner is well known for his antics of quoting lines from Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’ poem as he serves his customers! His Florentine steak is absolutely divine so why not buy some to grill for a delicious meal...along with some Chianti red wine of course!
Panzano in Chianti
Panzano in Chianti is indeed, a lovely old town, undisturbed by the stresses of modern life. A few houses spent strolling through its pretty little chapels and admiring the ornate painting and artefacts on display inside, tourists can be sure of a very pleasant experience here.
