While serious runners will take the opportunity to get a run in whenever and wherever they can, there is no denying that a scenic setting majorly adds to the experience. A run while on holidays, therefore, offers the chance to get your run in while also getting out and taking in your surroundings.

Imagine, for example, that you find a perfect option among our Tuscany Villas and are staying in a dreamy vacation rental in Chianti, your run of the day could be down winding old roads amidst the vineyards of this beloved wine area. With the leaves on the vines rustling in the breeze or sunlight dancing across your path between branches, with backdrops of pretty old towns and rolling green hills, and with fresher than fresh air and the relaxing sounds of nature, we could think of few places more magical and atmospheric for a run! If, however, you are feeling like you also want a challenge or to indulge in a bit of competitive spirit, then maybe you should sign up for the Chianti Classico Marathon! 

Presenting a very traditional exterior with a chic and stylish polish to the interiors, Villa Poggio La Croce is a stone villa in Tuscany with a charming terracotta roof set within lovely gardens and nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Chianti wine region. Located in the countryside but just 2km (1 mile) from the town of Radda In Chianti and 19km (12 miles) from Greve In Chianti, it is also within easy day-trip distance of Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Arezzo. For art-lovers who book a villa in Florence, there is certainly a wide range of museums, galleries, and spaces in which to enjoy works art from all throughout history. Until the 4th of May 2025, the Museo degli Innocenti will be hosting an exhibition called Impressionists in Normandy, that features the work of some of the best-known and well-loved artists of the period including Monet, Bonnard, Boudine, Corot, Courbet, Villon, Renoir, and Delacroix. With over 70 works on display, this wonderful exhibition comes 150 years after the birth of this artistic movement in the city that birthed another of the great and influential periods of art.
